BruHull Netball Team and the Winter Games

On 19th December 2010,

The BruHull netball team travelled to London to attend the annual Winter Games - where only the determined and strong-willed can advance through the freezing cold winter to strive for a spot in history...or at least in a position where you earn a medal.

The girls played well, braving the cold weather and snow glazed court when not even the officials can bare being exposed to the elements. Facing many opponents, the netball team played with great determination: being unbeaten in the group stages, winning all but one game which ended in a draw, and though they lost in the semis, they recovered from their lost quickly to earn a deserved win in the third place playoff -- successfully finishing the tournament in third place. To add 'drama' to this tale of determination, the team even went against a team with a former BruHullian in it. Of course this 'drama' is played for laughs and there were no hostilities between them.

All smiles and no harm - the BruHull netball team that day with a supporter and a former BruHullian...

...and now with the guys as well.

Later that night, the team attended the award ceremony held at Brunei Hall.

The team received one big trophy followed by mini-trophies for each players.

Congratulations BruHull Netball Team! You have braved the cold winter, stood against the slippery ice and faced your opponents with great determination to finish the tournament in third place.
